Do I need OBS?
No. Choicast lets you choose a screen in your browser and start streaming. A Discord login is required to stream.
Is it free?
The currently available features are free. Features or pricing may be reviewed in the future.
Can I watch on Quest?
Yes, in a world with a compatible video player. Quest viewers use the same viewing URL as PC viewers. This does not let you start a screen share from Quest.
What should I check if the video does not play?
Check the viewer’s “Allow Untrusted URLs” setting, AVPro Stream support in the player, and the viewing URL. In Public instances, the world author must also add tv.choicast.com to Allowed Domains.
How much latency is there?
Latency depends heavily on the world video player setting (AVPro low latency). We have confirmed that the same player can differ by about 10 seconds between low latency on and off. If the delay is large, check the player settings in the world.
How long can I stream?
A stream lasts 15 minutes. You can extend it once, for up to 30 minutes total.
